What you mean by cohort study? The term cohort is defined as
“group of people whose activities or goals are same ant its occurrence is in a
defined time period”. There are more examples to cohort like death cohort,
birth cohort, Occupational cohort etc; in death cohort all the peoples are die
in a defined period for example the people died in 2011 are called as 'death
cohort of 2011'. Same of this all groups in cohorts are known by the defined
time period.
Now everyone get an idea about cohort and cohort groups. The
cohort study refers the study about the cohort group in a particular time. In
short, it’s an epidemiological study used to find out solutions on the basis of
additional evidence and causes to the current event (disease, birth, mortality
etc ;)

It’s a type of analytical study for the purposeful enquiry on
an event by seeking additional evidence to execute an association between
outbreak and its causes. Cohort study is known with other names like:
longitudinal study, prospective study and incidence study etc;

- By observing the cohort group for a long time the frequency of disease can measure accurately.
- The study is useful to answer all the questions from origin to eradication of the disease.
